The delightfull indulgence of adjustments from new teachers

So today I met Charlie, the authorized teacher at the yogaplace. The place is so casual (i.e.: I had to leave the money for the class in a "box", and forget receipts) that I had trouble remembering I was not in India.

He adjusted me Parivritta Parsvakonasana by pushing my back foot and really, seriously turning my body around. I finally understood what it is meant by "keeping your hips straight", I don't think I had every done that before, in general I tend to let my hips up.

Then in Janu Sirsasana A he came around again, and corrected, where I what was not keeping straight was my head, if I turned my torso to lay on top of my straight leg, then my head tended to go towards that side, which apparently is not right.

I like how different teachers will see you practice and correct you in completely different parts of the practice. Makes me want to practice with more and more teachers. Then again, indeed that is the Westerner "I want more" mentality which the practice teaches us to detach from. Oh well, one thing at the time.
