There was a very heavy snow falling over Manhattan today, and this interrupted my meditation pattern of going somewhere to just sit and be.
Instead I went to the post office to get stamps, and guess what?, the machines that used to sell stamps are gone, no more, finito. The alternative is a long line with an overworked postal worker behind a desk at the end of it. I waited about 15 minutes before I gave up (still having 6 people in front of me, from the original 9 when I started the wait).
My immediate reaction was very similar to what people were saying on the line, perhaps a bit more subdued as it did not involve the word "f*&k", but on the same lines... it went something like: "what were they thinking"
I noticed on the way out that it was one of those wonderful opportunities to exercise non-judgment and try to see the good in it, trust that there is a reason. Sometimes it might not be so easy.
