I keep watching him.
Inspired by the video this morning I tried to see what it would feel like to "rest" in between Urdhva Dhanurasanas by placing the FACE on the floor. Intense.
I am quite happy to report that my back bends are feeling better, something seems to be opening, and I believe it is all related to some sort of psychological break through happening, which I cant even talk about since I do not even comprehend yet.
Anyway, here is the master, enjoy.
It's beautiful, isn't it? No frills, no futzing (though he did adjust his shorts just before the dropbacks!). Just clean, precise backbending. It looks like he's praying, right before he bends back to grab his ankles, which I find very touching, indeed, even though I'm not a religious person.
ReplyDeleteI like these even better:

Always liked the no frills aspect of Sharath's practice too. Was quite a revelation when I got his DVD after watching Swenson and Lino. His breathing right at the end is interesting here, a kind of controlled panting almost, very short but steady breaths. And his feet, not even a tremor, damn it.
ReplyDeleteYes, lew, he is just so "efficient" in his energy utilization.
ReplyDeleteB, wow, that is amazing...
G, I had not noticed the thing about his feet, I guess it takes 20 years to get there, or more, I wonder how long exactly he has been doing this...
