I did not get to do many videos in February so here is my, ehem!, almost mid March version of it. I am feeling a lot more confident as I drop back and although the process is not nearly as fast as I thought it would be, mostly because I don't get to try this for long in the shala, I am enjoying it.
Sorry the actual action does not start until 0:16, feel free to forward. I am taking my time in all areas and not being at home I dont have the editing software. At 0:32 I have gone as far as I can and the adrenaline begins to kick in, that is when I am beginning to lessen the bend and rather work on stretching the front part of the body, which is new to me and feels really good.
The first time I tried it I was only able to stay hanging for 11 seconds, and my breath was panting, here I stayed for a good 40 seconds or so, and the breath is smooth. Progress.
This is looking good Claudia, just looked back over your past dropback videos (favourite is still the one in the dress with the hair and the screen, to hell with the back bend i want that screen.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you on this in the shala now and have you tried dropping back to the wall at home? The bend in your back looks deep enough from here and your getting your hips nicely forward. Are the hands at the back of your legs kind of like a safety net now?
Word Veri was 'mebent' it's a sign!
Hi Grimmly, thanks for your questions, in the shala I have not asked to drop back on the wall yet, I get the feeling it is time. Yes the hips feel like they are nicely going forward and the hands on the legs are definitely a safety net, but you give me an idea here, perhaps I can start and try to send the hands back and see what happens, kind of the way I have seen you and Boodiba do it... that is a very good idea for a next step
ReplyDeleteDont tell anyone but the screen is available in amazon... and at a pretty reasonable price...
like the veri too... I believe in signs like that :-)
Nice! I'd say the next thing you could try, at home, is bringing your arms over head, extending through your fingertips, and using the weight of your arms as leverage to get a bit more stretch into your upper back. And you can use the driste too. Connect with your mat via driste.
ReplyDeleteHi Boodiba, thank you for this, yes, good idea on the dristi, internal dristi I suppose for now, for mat connection as I am far from being able to look at the mat...
ReplyDeleteGoodone on the extending through the finger tips as the arms go back, I would not have thought about that... Cant wait to try this all out.
You are very good, Claudia. I love the concentration that is evident in your face. You really care and you really practice. You are absolutely gorgeous as well, and somebody is going to discover you and you may have to make a choice between your privacy and some kind of (dare I use the word) celebrity.
