Eat the sun?

The movie is called "Eat the Sun", and claims that by staring into the sun we can become sun charged, not even need to eat...

I thought I was getting closer to the sun energy by eating raw sometimes, but this is, well, pushing it over the limit shall we say...

There is an Indian man in the movie who says he has not eaten for 8 years.

My first reaction over thinking about looking at the sun is what my parents told me, that it is dangerous, that you can go blind.  Then again, they also told me Santa came every December with presents, not to stare in the direction of the wind and to never pass the salt hand to hand, always put it on the table first.

What do you think?  Do you sun gaze?

  1. Eating is one of life's most basic, animal pleasures!!!! I do enjoy getting my vitamin D, but I have no need or desire to stop eating :)

  3. I agree with you, Boodiba - food is fun! :-)

But this idea is fascinating. The people interviewed in the trailer are so earnest (and none of them seem to be blind).

Hey, maybe this is the answer to America's obesity epidemic: The Sun Diet! Though I wonder... if you stare at the sun TOO much, will you get chubby from all that sun energy? :-)

  4. I've heard a good diet is to remove all your clothes and stand in front of a full length mirror before every meal!

  5. HA Ha ha, that is funny Kaivalya... could you become overweight from too much sun... I bet we could, this is America, we can do anything! :-)

Boodiba, I think if I did that i would definitely HAVE to turn to the sun diet... maybe not such a good idea for the "loving oneself and nurturing oneself" department... but I bet there are people out there for whom it might work

  6. Wow, that's definitely going in my Netflix queue! I've always considered food to be pure pleasure... it'd be nice to be able to get my nourishment elsewhere if need be.

So in the film, do they tout sun-gazing as a potential cure for world hunger and/or malnutrition?
