32 things I look forward to doing next time I visit Mysore, India

I am very much looking forward to visiting Mysore, and at the same time I realize that the city I visited back in 08 is probably not the city that exists today, it never is, and I know this from having visited Buenos Aires every year for the past 10, things change, cities move on, develop, get new immigrants and people leave them.

Cities are as the people who live in them, and Mysore I am sure is no exception, nevertheless these are 32 things I am looking forward to doing when in the city of Ashtanga, weather it may have changed or not:

  1. Visiting a tailor. The last time I went I got a beautiful dress made to my measurements, and oh so beautiful. You can see a picture here, I don't know what I was thinking on the sun-glasses front.
  2. Getting an Ayurvedic treatment, or massage
  3. Visit Chamundi hill (picture (right) from here)
  4. Having dinner on full moon at the Princess' hotel (the Green Hotel) (picture above)
  5. Drinking chai lots of it, but always before 5PM, as I would also like to sleep
  6. Focusing on the practice
  7. Visiting the Ramakrishna ashram and store where you can find lectures in cassette tapes... amazing
  8. Going to the downtown market and buying some stuff I will not know what to do with when I return
  9. Expressing gratitude to a few people I met in my last trip and who helped me more than they would have ever suspected
  10. Studying the yoga sutras
  11. Chanting in a group
  12. Having brunch in all the cafes that cator to westerners (Santosha, Anu, Tina, Green Leaf) can't wait
  13. Going to Pizza Hut after a walk by the lake, yes there is a Pizza Hut, and also a Dominos... surreal
  14. Walking on the street with my flashlight avoiding falling into enormous holes
  15. Going to the pool (Southern Star), and striking a pose or two, why not? also having a slice of cake
  16. Covering my head and shoulders
  17. Practicing at the shala
  18. Seeing friends and meeting lots of yogis and bloggers
  19. Meditating
  20. Writting
  21. Resting
  22. Taking photographs
  23. Cleaning up primary series
  24. Learning completely once and for all the full vinyasa count and names of asanas for primary
  25. Being grateful and sending prayers to the KPJAYI
  26. Stopping in Dubai
  27. Thanking my husband for coming with me
  28. Flying Emirates, hopefully the 380
  29. Eating at the stand up cafe in particular
  30. Blogging about it all
  31. Going shopping at the supermarket Nuri? what was it called?
  32. Having a blast
