Just heard from Martina and Jen that Sharath told them this afternoon that he is building another house down the road of the shala for the whole family.
This means the current house, that hosts the yoga room and offices now, will be a whole yoga institute. It will have chanting classes in actual classroom rather than a bathroom!, AND a library!, how cool is that?!
Timeline is 18 months.
I added the information to Mysorepedia.com where I am keeping all information about Mysore.
If you would like to share something or post something of interest about Mysore in your own blog let me know and I will link to you.
Great news!

ReplyDeletefor now my yoga is slow after funerals it is hard
Sereneflavor, yes Mysorpedia, thank you for the "genius" part, although is partly HB's idea... I always wanted one place to have all together, so I guess this works for me and hopefully will help others visiting Mysore too! :-)
ReplyDeleteLilasvb, mourning is intense... I am sending you healing vibes, but remember is a process... my heart reaches out to you, big hug
Claudia, can you say something about costs, I know it'll go out of date quickly ( so perhaps a separate post from your Mysorepedia) but I'm curious about the current shala costs and all these different classes everyone seems to be taking at the moment, the chanting, Sanskrit, that art class you mention.
ReplyDelete@Grimmly, sure, these figures are approximately, not to the exact number. the shala for the first month (With Sharath as you can only do one month with him to begin with, is about 600 dollars or so 27000 ruppias, then the second month you can negotiate if you are staying for just one week or so, and it is about 7000 ruppias per week)
ReplyDeleteSaraswatti you can do two weeks if you want to and James paid 7000 ruppias per week
Lakshimish for chanting not sure but will find out with my friends and get back to you, same with the drawing classes, will ask :-)
OK, so this is what my friend Martina says, I will add it to Mysorepedia too, great suggestion, thank you G
ReplyDeletepainting depends on the size, detail and amount of gold. my vishnu is 15,000 rupees, and the gayatri is 5,000 ruppees. it all depends.
lakshmish is 700ru/month
thank you for this Claudia, hope if I ever do go it'll be when you and James are there too.
