Forget anything you heard about making things happening! Let us just, for one moment, return to having fun.
Remember when you wrere a kid and the activity of the day was making a collage?
Remember being with other kids? All immersed in a pile of magazines and scissors? Or picking that one image because some color was bright and shinny... Then touching the glue... smelling it... tasting it, ugh! ... getting your fingers all sticky... having a potato chip, glue and all...and returning to your page?
Those were the times! Because back then, there was no time, and all was well and we were having fun!
And we did not need anything because everything we needed was in front of us.
Of course now we are adults... but still, if we can remember and keep the fun... then...
Creating a collage with images of things you want, helps with the attraction process.
Thing is... making a collage has nothing to do with magic. It is all pretty down to earth.
It actually has a lot more to do with picturing the person you want to be, putting energy into it, and keeping it in visual form somewhere, so that it can sink into deeper layers of your psychic.
You make the collage and then release it. It might or might not come true. That is not the point.
Without surrendering there is no success, just like when we were kids. It is all about the fun.
And besides... especially now, as adults... We don't really perceive our own best interests (see point 3 in this post)... So it might take making a few of these until you fine tune your intuition.
And besides... especially now, as adults... We don't really perceive our own best interests (see point 3 in this post)... So it might take making a few of these until you fine tune your intuition.
It definitely works if....
A) You have a very open mind (like a kid) and you believe
And...
B) If you are healthy: Meaning, if all four legs of the daily practice are in place and you are: Physically, Mentally, Spiritually and Emotionally healthy. See here.
UPDATE: Sharon Pingitore sent me a link to her "on-line vision board service". This is SO 2014! - It is a paid service, but the boards she has there look wonderful... something to consider. You can find her page here.

WHAT TO DO IN 9 STEPS
1 -SIT IN SILENCE FOR 20 MINUTES TO CLEAR THE MIND
It will clear your mind before you start. Get you in kid mode. Letting go of all those troubles.
Sitting in silence (especially when done every day) works, because you quiet the mind and begin to operate from "infinity", from a place where there is no time, and from the realm where all possibilities are ready to sprout.

Ahh... Silence |
2.- AFTER THE 20 MINUTES OF SILENCE
It's likely, if you sat, that your mind will be calm and less cluttered.
Now, ask yourself:
"What do I need to understand about myself right now?"
DO NOT ANSWER!
The answer will come to you throghout the next couple of days and in ways that have NOTHING to do with the mind.
The answer will come through the images you feel attracted to as we continue with this fun activity of the day.
The answer will come through the images you feel attracted to as we continue with this fun activity of the day.
3.- TRUST AND LET THE ANSWER BE REVEALED
Let intuition in. Let the sunshine in. For crying out loud, let something in!
You get the jest...
You get the jest...

Trust that your creative juices are flowing |
You may hear an answer from the license plate of a car... or the neckless that the woman at the cashier of Starbucks is wearing...
Like it happened to me once... when I asked the question to myself... and the neckless on the cashier's responded immediatelly... right there... as I was about to pay for my juice... it said: "BELIEVE".
4.- FIND THE IMAGES
Then either find images on the internet, OR cut images from magazines that you come across that "have energy", meaning that when you look at them you feel something strong.
May be a sunny warm beach... Maybe there are some shinny shapes that look funny... Maybe a first class seat on an airplane that looks very exotic... Maybe a baby that looks so cute... Maybe traveling... Maybe a wife... Maybe a new job... Maybe a husband... Maybe a Peaceful setting to work in ... Maybe your creativity soaring...
Give yourself some time to find images. Go browse a newsstand... or browse the internet. Do it with full awareness and enjoying it.
5.- SELECT THE IMAGES THAT "SPEAK" TO YOU
Any image that represents things that have "force", "energy", that "something" that "j'ai n'est c'est quoin" (forgive my French I am probably murdering it).
Choose those. The ones that definitely absolutely speak to you.

6.- DONT WORRY IF IMAGES ARE STRANGE
In 2010 I was attracted to the image of the woman in the red dress (below)... I have no idea why... I used it of course!
I guess I loved the contrast of nature and her being so beautifully dressed, with a time-less expression and a peaceful way about her.
You don't need to fully understand why you are attracted to an image.
The part of you that KNOWS BETTER, knows why... so trust it.

Might be an image you don't understand don't worry, use it. |
You can also add your own paintings if you have some. That might make it more powerful as your creativity is already embedded in the vision.
7.- MAKE THE VISION BOARD
How many images? 30 is a good number, or 25, or whatever YOU feel is the right amount.
Just make sure is more than 11. Put a little effort! Be aware, and mindful.
Then:
Put them together on a blank page. Glue them any way you want, on top of each other, covering some parts of one photo with another. You can add glitter, stickers, color glue, water color paint, painted pasta shells, egg shells.... I don't know what you want to attract!
Think vision board. Think what you would like to happen.
Then go ahead and trust yourself on how you will arrange them.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO YOU ARE CERTAIN TO GET IT RIGHT.
Do not over-think it.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO YOU ARE CERTAIN TO GET IT RIGHT.
Do not over-think it.
Thinking is the addiction that keeps the veils of perception thick, in front of our eyes, covering what IS, and what IS is bliss.
Let it all go and have fun!
AND... SURRENDER THE RESULTS...
Put it this way: Think that "this or something "better" might come along". That will help you let attachments go.

This is a sample collage so you get the idea. |
8.- PUT THE BOARD IN A PLACE WHERE YOU (ALONE) WILL SEE IT
Place it somewhere where you'll see it.
Keep it for you.
It's private. DO NOT SHARE IT
It's your vision board.
RESPECT IT.

How do you make a board that you get to see all the time, but not the person that you live with? That seems a bit impossible and impractical.
ReplyDeleteMorzada, that is a good point, I mean you don't share it on Facebook, or Twitter, as people may project all sorts of things onto your work... But it's OK to share it with the people you live with, because you trust them... or even better... you can make it together and have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteSharon, thank you for that, I love the page, it is SOOO 2014! and a great resource.
ReplyDeleteI put an update on the post so that people reading can see it there too.
"Je ne sais quoi", yes you murdered it, several times ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes I think that applies to everything really. And thank you
ReplyDeleteHee hee and to think I took 5 years of French. I know! Embarrassing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Claudia for this inspiring post! I am so glad to discover your blog. Happy new year! XOXO
ReplyDeleteThanks for saying Victoria, nice to meet you! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat post...I'm new here and glad to have discovered your blog. May I ask...you live in the city (The City), right? (rhetorical question). What do you do for "silence?" (real question).
ReplyDeleteHi EMF thank you. I live a bit away from the city actually. And what I do for silence is find a quiet room, tell everyone not to disturb me. And sit. In silence. One hour.every day.
ReplyDeleteFor more read the post "why I hate the word meditation" it has a video so anyone can join me for 20 minutes of silence
Claudia-
ReplyDeleteYour post came at a time when I really needed to re-incorporate collages back into my life.
I had a baby almost 3 years ago, and she is the light of my life. My life, however, is busier than it ever has been. Between my business, my baby, and my husband (my poor husband - he always is last), I am finding less time for myself these days.
I really need to get back to doing things that nourish my soul like dreaming, cutting, pasting, and playing. Thank you for this reminder. Thank you for this article.
Wendy
Claudia!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and this post and it (of course) came at a perfect time for me. NOW is the right moment to sit in 20 minutes of silence (I've been doing 10-15 a day--I can do 5 more!) and then relax and let the answers come to me. A wonderful approach to something I keep *meaning* to do...
I also have to tell you how much warmth and positive energy I get from your writing and hearing you on video...a delight. Thank you for the mid-week boost and doing what you do!
