To honor Freedom, which is what we are celebrating today in the United States I want to invite you to be a part of the blog and direct me on what you would like to read here.
July is also the point of mid-year, which serves as a reflection vortex, or so I claim! I want to know what you think. Is the blog keeping it real?
I am opening up a new poll (on the right) to make it easier but I would much appreciate if you were to comment and post specific questions. What Is it missing? What do you want to see more of? You can. Ask me on Twitter.
For example:
I am developing series on pranayama which I hope to make a whole new section. For example there is already a post on how to get started with the real basics of pranayama and one on kapalbhati or the breathing exercise that clears the mind.
Comment with your suggestions or questions because July is freedom month and I want to direct the blog on your cue! :-)
Happy 4th for those of you in the United States, and happy Canada day as well for the friends on the north, and since we are at it, happy 9th of July for those of my home land in Argentina! :-)

For example:
- Do you like personal stories that relate to yoga? Recently I wrote about how love addiction is connected to the concept of 'using our sexual energy efficiently in yoga'.
- Or is the Ashtanga scene your thing? As in Mysorepedia.com? or how to get started with Ashtanga?
- Are you interested in asanas? Recently I had a post on the two types of headstands and where should we put our head down? What would you like to read about on this front?
- Do you like the blog-watches?
- Would you like to see more yoga book reviews?
- Would you like to read more about pranayama? And if so, what specifically?

- Or maybe you are interested in the philosophy when it is applied to our lives as in "Got hurt by a comment and learned a new sutra", or the "only super power we should pay attention to"
What would you like to see next?

I like personal stories. After that I like stuff related to yoga philosophy, krishnamacharya, etc.
ReplyDeleteI am with James, I love the personal stories, yoga philosophy esp how it applies to our lives, ashtanga "mythology"/history/anecdotes and book reviews
ReplyDeletei think we have a pattern, cause i'm w/james and min on this ;-)
ReplyDeletealso, it never hurts, i think, to still have articles on stuff "you" want when you want, whether on asanas, blog watches, a book review you want to do, etc
gotta keep the flavor of what you really enjoy, thanks for asking ;-)
I don't know Claudia, I think your blog is your blog, it's a reflection of who you are, your own interests and passions. I guess I want you to write about what you WANT to write about, what you feel strongly about even if it means you lose 99% of your readership ( I'll stick around). What amuses, you, takes your fancy, what troubles you. I wont be interested in everything i'm sure but then there will be posts I never would have expected to be interested in that will end up grabbing me or challenging me.
ReplyDeletei understand the sentiment though and have thought about asking the same thing.
That said, you've written some big posts recently, the last one for example 'The Only 32 Things You Need to Know About Yoga' and the pranayama one, be nice if you had a place on your page for the ones your readers will want to come back to . Been in a rush all weekend and haven't had a chance to really go through it and think about it. perhaps something titled 'long posts you might want to come back to'.
hi Claudia
ReplyDeletei love your post. i love the way yo write and i get to know you ;-) the brilliant thing on your blog is that you do touch into everything and that's why it is so interesting. you can learn lots from some posts, others allow us readers to see into your thoughts and your view of life and you living yoga. so no need to change really ;-)
having sad that, i will contradict myself and be very spoiled in requesting some more practical tips on asanas early in practice. it is very helpful seeing and hearing fellow matured ashtangis talk how they got over harder poses when they started in the same way you talk about the poses you are working on now in your practice.
hope that makes sense and apologies for a long comment ;-) Ivana
p.s. happy July 4th and July 9th x
Thanks James, I know you are a believer in the power of stories, especially when they are real, and bleed. I believe in them too... thanks for saying.
ReplyDeleteMin, appreciate your comment, that is actually my favorite part, how it all comes together.
Adan great, guess the mix is good then. I do have my own thing going is true...
Grimmly appreciate the vote of confidence, guess I am getting a self esteem boost from the post after all... and you are right some of the post I guess I want to have more prominently located, I dread letting go of some, or burrying them, especially the ones close to my heart, like the only 32 things to know which you mentioned... yes, I will think about a title for them... I get where you are going to. Thanks for the input.
I suppose that is what I iike about blogs too, that they are expressions of the people behind them, good point!
Hi Ivana, we must have crossed comments, I just only see it now. That is a great idea, sure ! I love those kinds of posts, and lately the focus in practice has been on "cleaning up", I actually have an idea already!, thanks for the input and the cheer about the blog :-)
ReplyDeleteclaudia,
ReplyDeleteyour blog is great the way it is, with a mix of topics and comments on whatever is on your mind on any given day. i stumbled on your blog a few weeks ago (link on KinoYoga), and have been a regular reader since. ive read many of the old posts as well. i thoroughly enjoy it all, so you don't have to change a thing.
loved your book as well, ill send you an email about that when i have some free time.
shanti,
michael
Thank you Michael, you just put a smile in my face :-)
ReplyDeleteI just want to know your opinion about the subjects that interest you. That's why we read blogs, Si o no?
ReplyDeleteSi! S/F, totalmente de acuerdo!, gracias :-)
ReplyDeleteWrite whatever you feel compelled to share Claudia; I'll for sure keep reading!
ReplyDeleteI do especially like the 'Sunday Blog Times' though...it's fun to discover new blogs and fun articles on yoga related things that I didn't know about.
:)
Dear Claudia, all you write is so great! I learn a lot from you, so please, just keep writing about anything you like or happen to you, it is always interesting, funny and amazing at the same time. Thank you for dedicating your time in this blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise :-)
